blargh

Ok, I have yet to pick up my knitting needles, I don't know why. Sniffle. I need to get started I want to whip up a pair of the fingerless mitts in black LB KoolWool for a friend.

I am super excited--- we're filming the final scene for Roadkill on New Year's Eve and Megan's going to be in it!! Yay! Most people (my home health nurse included) might raise an eyebrow or two at me using my own 5 year old in a horror movie--- as a victim. But since she was on set this summer and quote, "The blood syrup makes me want to eat pancakes," I am pretty sure she has a good grasp on reality vs fantasy. The scene we are doing involves 2 vampires who are somewhat "involved" talking about meeting up with their friend (the bad guy from roadkill) and complaining about why he hasn't shown up yet. The camera pans and you realize they aren't in their own place they are shacked up in someone else's home, and the someone else has become their victims. To pull on your heart strings a bit the camera focuses in on a little kid (megan) who's been ravaged by the vamps. Yay honey for coming up with that idea.

Movie making for him is like knitting for me but really, wow. It is such a fun thing to do. Everyone had such a good attitude and it was awesome. One night when most of the crew was off at another hotel filming one scene, I stayed back with the makeup guy and another actor and we sat in the motel parking lot and watched the most AMAZING thunderstorm ever. Another night everyone was just sitting there talking about their favorite horror movies, batman, and other nerdy fan boy stuff and I was just in heaven. It was a blast. We're hoping to get the film edited and finished in time to submit it to the AVIFF (antelope valley international film festival)

I have one huge ginormous goal for this year: NO BOOK BUYING! I am going to pay off my overdue fines at the library and attempt to only use the library this year. Every time I see a book I want to buy I am going to write it down and get it from the library. I will exhuast all of my other options before purchasing a book. Why? For October and November I spent a grand total of $371 on books, that's Amazon, Waldenbooks, and Barnes and Noble. This doesn't count books purchased with cash, in grocery stores, or at department stores like Target, Costco, or Walmart. $400.

I am ashamed.

well, i think you're being harsh about your book buying! i mean, what about knitting books? what if you LOVE a book, and it's one that you'll reread over and over? (i'm an enabler, sorry)
